Anna Quigley first noticed something might be wrong when she was setting up for a family Christmas party and felt something pull in her lower back. Thinking it was just a pulled muscle, Anna saw a chiropractor. She was eventually sent to an endocrinologist, who realized that Anna was suffering from multiple myeloma.
Anna says that through her experience being treated for, and living with, the disease — she’s learned to trust her own instincts about herself and her health. She also said staying active played a large role in her recovery. “Mentally, it was better for me to still kind of keep moving, and keeping my life as normal as I could while I was letting the drugs kind of take over,” Anna says.
