Once you see a surgeon (or two), you may find that there are a lot of different ways to accomplish cancer surgery. The traditional approach is surgery through an incision through the middle of your belly. There are also what are called "minimally invasive" approaches, which can be broken up into laparoscopic or robotic surgery. Both of these types of surgery use small incisions which make the surgery less painful.
