- Breast cancer survivor Robin Roberts, 61, is known for her encouraging weekly prayers. We’ve compiled a list of the top five most inspiring ones to hopefully get you in a positive mindset.
- Roberts is a breast cancer survivor and her partner Amber was diagnosed with the disease in late 2021. In 2007, Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she went through her health battle publicly.

Roberts is a very faith-based person. Pretty much every day of the week, she posts a video to her social media sharing an uplifting morning message and prayer from her dressing room. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 after discovering a lump. Ironically, she made this discovery while prepping for a news segment on performing self-checks, which shows just how important they are to perform at home.

"You may have obstacles that look permanent in your life, but God is about to have them hurry up out of your way," Roberts began. "That addiction. That depression … see ya. Suddenly, the waters part. Suddenly, your health turns around. Suddenly, the door opens …” "Get ready for your 'Suddenly’" she says, with a "whew!" as if using it as a reminder for herself. Let it out, Robin!Members of the "Glam Fam" glam squad shared what they're most grateful for: the long holiday weekend ahead!
"Based on what you just said, Robin, I realize I don't have to be perfectI just have to be present and persistent," one of the women said, playfully warning viewers to not get in trouble this weekend. Robin chimed in saying "You don't get in trouble," to her tribe, saying she doesn't want to get any calls from anyone.
2. Mistakes Happen
"Are you worried about what people will think if you humble yourself and admit your mistakes," she said in a clip from her dressing room. "We've all made mistakes and done things that we're not proud of.
"Now, don't let pride hold you back. Pride keeps us from rising higher. The new beginning is in your humility. Healing, restored relationships, open doors and second chances are in your humility."
Being strong in her faith, Roberts then went on to say that humbling yourself allows you to get to the point where God "does more than you can ask or think" and takes you to the next level.
She ended her video with a heartfelt prayer for the day.
"Father, thank you thank you that I can humble myself under your mighty hand and break the pride that keeps me from admitting my weaknesses and mistakes," she said. "Thank you that your power goes to work in all of us.
"When we humble and admit that we don't have it all together, we believe and declare that you will lift us up at the right time. In Jesus name, Amen."
As Roberts always does, the TV star ended her prayer by pressing a button that lets out a sound of someone's voice presumably Laign's. "Right, sweet Amber?" she said before pressing the button. "Have a blessed day. Be a blessing."
3. Practice Gratitude
Roberts is reminding her beloved #GlamFam to always find something to be grateful for in a recent prayer post.
"We should be grateful, have a smile, be good to people, and be passionate about our dreams," Roberts read. "We should be not dwelling on wrongs, but what's right. Not focusing on what you've lost, but what you have left," she adds.
She read the devotional from her smartphone, adding that "our lives should be of praise to God."
4. Trust The Process
"Sometimes we look at the painful times in our lives when we're hurting, we're lonely, we're undergoing medical treatment and we think, 'This can't be a part of God's plan. This cannot be a part of God's plan,’" Roberts says. "You have to trust that even then, God doesn't make any mistakes, he has already designed your life down to the smallest detail."
Roberts continues reading from her phone, while glancing up at the camera and making eye contact with her team during some of her most impactful words. "He didn't promise you that there wouldn't be any pain, suffering, or disappointment. But he did promise that it would all work out for our good. The key is what you do in your time of pain: difficulties, heartache, suffering, they don't leave us the same. If you go through a divorce, a legal battle, or if you have a friend who betrays you, eventually you will get through it. But you will be different. Now, you can come out bitter, or you can come out better.'
She concludes with the most important message from her prayer. "You can go through it or you can grow through it, and we choose to grow through it," then adds, "it's been one of those mornings, but it's been a blessed day." Whether we're sick or healthy, feeling up or down, just taking comfort in the fact that we all go through rough mornings, days, weeks … can help pick you up again.
5. You’re ‘In The Middle’
"As we go through difficulties it's easy to live worried and stressed," Roberts said in a video taken in her dressing room. "The circumstances may look overwhelming and frightening. In the noise and chaos, it can be difficult to hear these words: Be still and know that I am God."
She then went on to explain her belief that facing hard times means you're "in the middle of a miracle." A miracle that, for Roberts, is unfolding at the hands of God.
"Right now, forces of darkness are bent on destroying you they are being pushed back," she said. "Today's opposition may be bigger than anything you've ever faced, but it's not a surprise to God.
"If you're not seeing the victory yet, don't panic you are in the middle. Healing is coming. Breakthroughs are coming. Restoration is coming."
She ended her morning pep talk with a simple, but poignant prayer.
"Father, thank you. Thank you that no matter what the circumstances are around us, we can be still and know that you are God right at this very moment," she said. "Thank you that if we are in the middle right now, you will bring us through.
"We believe and declare that we are going to triumph. In Jesus name, Amen."
