Dr. Joseph Friedberg
Thoracic Surgeon-in-Chief
Temple University Health System
Dr. Joseph Friedberg is the thoracic surgeon-in-chief at the Temple University Health System. He is also the vice chair of surgical services for the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery and the co-director of the Temple Health Mesothelioma and Pleural Disease Program.
He also serves as a medical advisor to SurvivorNet.
Dr. Friedberg's research is focused on developing new, more effective therapies for various types of lung cancer, including mesothelioma.
He was previously the Charles Reid Edwards Professor of Surgery and head of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
