Dr. Sylvia Adams
Director of the Breast Cancer Center
NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center
Dr. Sylvia Adams is a professor of medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Director of the Breast Cancer Center at the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center.
As an internationally recognized expert in breast cancer immunotherapy, she has led groundbreaking research and clinical studies leading to the first chemo-immunotherapy approval for breast cancer. She is a member of the ECOG-ACRIN Breast Cancer Committee, has served on various ASCO committees, and is a member of the NCI Clinical Oncology Study Section. At present, she also co-chairs the NCI Breast Cancer Immuno-Oncology Task Force.
Her research has been supported by grants from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the New York State Department of Health, the Department of Defense, and the National Cancer Institute. She also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at NYU and chairs of the Data and Safety Monitoring Board of the NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center.
