Dr. Stephen Freedland, a urologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, says reduced penis size after prostate surgery doesn’t seem to be a very common complaint, but then again some men might not feel comfortable talking about it. Dr. Freedland says shrinkage is likely the result of surrounding skin being tightened during surgery. Researchers in Japan found that the reduction in size is likely to be greatest at 10 days after surgery, but that in many men the penis returned to its normal size by 12 months after surgery.
